1. What is Spokn?
Spokn is a simple communications tool from Packetmobile.
It consists of three parts:
- Web Dashboard - a web service where you manage your Spokn account (add contacts, see your contacts' presence status and much more)
- Mobile - a full-featured communications client (rich presence, instant messaging, click-to-call, push-to-talk) for mobile phones (Symbian and Windows mobile)
- Desktop - a full-featured communications client (rich presence, instant messaging, click-to-call, conferencing, push-to-talk) for desktop computers (presently Windows; Mac & Linux clients coming soon)
Spokn is presently in private Beta. To join, you have to be invited. Once logged in to the Web Dashboard, you can download Spokn for mobile and desktop.
2. How do I upgrade to the new version?
If you have a Spokn ID, simply login to the Web Dashboard from the Spokn home page, then follow the instructions on the Dashboard to download Spokn for mobile and desktop. Use your current Spokn ID and password to login to the new Spokn for desktop and mobile.
If you don't have a Spokn ID, you will have to wait until Spokn is open for everyone. Spokn is presently in private Beta. To join, you have to be invited. When the service is open for everyone, it will be announced here on www.spokn.com.
3. Why is this FAQ so sparse?

4. Known issues: Spokn Desktop
"The LTP network is inaccessible. Check your internet access and try again."
Sometimes, the LTP network can be inaccessible. This can be caused by:
- Internet access problems. Solution: check your internet access, and try to connect again.
- Temporary network outage. Solution: Simply wait a while, then try to connect again.
- Windows XP blocking. Solution: make sure Windows hasn't blocked Spokn from accessing the internet. This technical document describes how to unblock applications »
